Hygiene – [...] (2021)
This project for a large, international group, headquartered in the EU, with roots in the pharma industry and a growing, diversified portfolio of businesses, sought firms with products related to hygiene, disinfection, and personal protection that offer a unique and special UX and provide protection from external harmful agents. The areas of interest included Home Care and Protection; Personal Care and Protection; Electronic Devices (Air purifiers, home cleaning apps and technology, UV sanitization devices); and Services.
The client was particularly interested in products with a distinctive UX that offered alternative ways to deliver the benefits of cleaning or protection. A key requirement was a strong sensorial signal that provided evidence of the effectiveness of the product during use – for instance, a spray cleaner that turns from one color to another to determine coverage or effectiveness. The scope of client engagement with selected firms included product co-development, licensing agreements, white-label purchase, and share acquisition.
The project required a global outlook, and the utilization of resources that reflected this, with solutions at more advanced stages of development preferred. A secondary focus of this project was identification and matching of potential incubation and acceleration partners with the client.
