If the companies of today are to overcome the threats and challenges of tomorrow, they require shrewd strategising, ample market intelligence and a measure of good fortune. In order to bolster the former and reduce reliance on the latter, many large companies are employing external sources for their innovation and market intelligence needs.
Utilising knowledge and networks garnered over years of research within the field of innovation, and specialised databases, I have consulted for a number of large multinationals and stock-listed firms including Aliaxis, Angelini Industries, and Church & Dwight providing services including market intelligence, innovation solutions startup/founder vetting, and strategy guidance and validation. Generally, projects have required the satisfaction of firms’ innovation needs through the scouting, selection and vetting of firms for potential collaboration, partnership, or M&As, the establishing and development of relationships between parties, and the provision of insights into specific innovation verticals in given markets. The project areas have spanned the gamut of industries, from Baby- to WaterTech, each highly specific and requiring bespoke processes to find desired solutions.
Leading these endeavours required project management, extensive data work, the scouting of potential partners, validation of their solutions, candidate vetting, and the generation and presentation of industry and technology-specific insights, as well as the cultivation of relationships with and between clients and prospective candidates.
The case studies provided (under corporate matching) are a snapshot of a portion of the innovation intelligence and corporate matching projects I have undertaken. Owing to the disclosure requirements of some clients, most case studies are anonymized, though details or references can be provided on request (this is dependent on client-assent and the firm and/or industry of any given requestor).
